Anton Ferdinand picks his Premier League Player of the Season

The Reading defender picks West Ham United’s Dimitri Payet ahead of Leicester City’s N'Golo Kante as the Premier League Player of the Season.

Reading defender Anton Ferdinand has suggested on social networking site Twitter that West Ham United attacking midfielder Dimitri Payet has been the Premier League Player of the Season.

Ferdinand, who started his professional club football career at West Ham, believes that Payet has been better than Leicester City midfielder N'Golo Kante so far this campaign.

Payet has been superb for West Ham so far this season, and there can be no denial that he is one of the best players in the Premier League at the moment.

The France international has scored nine goals and created 88 chances in 24 league matches.

The former Marseille star has a pass accuracy of 81% and a shot accuracy of 64%, and has won two headers, 57 dribbles and 14 tackles.

Kante, who joined Leicester from Caen in the summer of 2015, has been tremendous for the Foxes in midfield so far this campaign.

The France international has scored one goal and created 25 chances in 31 Premier League matches for Claudio Ranieri’s side this term.

The 25-year-old has a pass accuracy of 82% and a shot accuracy of 20%, and has won 35 headers, 39 dribbles and 100 tackles.
