HITC Sport understands Aberdeen have taken prolific striker on trial.
Scottish Premiership hopefuls Aberdeen have taken non-league striker Harry Smith on trial, HITC Sport understands from sources close to the club.
Smith has been earning rave reviews after joining Ryman League side Folkestone Invicta just before Christmas.
The 6ft 5in forward has scored 11 goals in 10 appearances for Folkestone with six of those appearances coming off the bench.
Smith had spells at Chelsea, Brentford and Gillingham as a youngster and he is now hoping to work his way back into the professional ranks.
A number of clubs in England and Scotland have been alerted to Smith following his goalscoring exploits and have been keeping tabs on his progress.
Aberdeen have now followed up their interest by inviting the giant hit-man up to Scotland for a trial period.
Aberdeen boss Derek McInnes and his coaching staff are keen to have a look at Smith at close quarters before deciding whether or not to pursue their interest in the player.
Folkestone are resigned to losing Smith in the future and they are unlikely to stand in his way if a club higher up the football pyramid makes a move for his services.
