West Ham reportedly want Uruguayan winger Federico Martinez.

According to a report from The Sun, West Ham United scouts have been impressed with winger Federico Martinez, who plays for Liverpool in his native Uruguay.

The Hammers have moed to add a host of young players since Slaven Bilic's appointment as manager almost a year ago, with Martin Samuelsen, Luka Belic and Sam Ford among the prospects being brought in, whilst Sky Sports report that Valencia's Toni Martinez is heading to Upton Park too.

The Spaniard may not be the only Martinez being targeted by West Ham though, as The Sun report that the Hammers are also keen on winger Federico Martinez, of Liverpool in Uruguay.

Martinez, 20, has emerged as one of the top young stars in Uruguay with Liverpool, and will no doubt be hoping to emulate the careers of his compatriots such as Luis Suarez and Edinson Cavani in the coming years.

It's stated that his performances have not only attracted interest from a host of scouts - namely West Ham's - but have also triggered comparisons to Paris Saint-Germain's former Manchester United flop Angel Di Maria.

The report claims that Martinez, who has only become a regular for Liverpool in recent months, is valued at just £1m, making his affordable to any Premier League club, such as West Ham.

A move to Europe won't be complicated either, as he qualifies for a EU passport through his family rather than having to apply for a work permit - something else which could tempt West Ham into a move for the young wing sensation this summer.
