Report explains what Rafael Benitez is focusing on in Newcastle United training

Rafael Benitez is yet to win a match as Newcastle United manager.

According to a report in the Chronicle, Newcastle United have been working hard on defending in training.

Newcastle have struggled at the back this season, and they are yet to keep a clean sheet since Benitez took charge.

The Spaniard has seen the Magpies let in five goals in his first three games at the helm and he is now determined to ensure that his side tighten up defensively.

Benitez has cancelled his players’ days off, after they were beaten 3-2 by Norwich City last weekend, as he looks to ensure that he does everything within his power to keep Newcastle up.

Newcastle have also been working on set-pieces, as they look to make the fine margins count in their favour.

The Magpies are in dire need to transform their form, as they look to escape from trouble.

Newcastle are currently six points adrift of safety, and they are stuck down in 19th place in the Premier League table.

The North East side’s next match comes against Southampton at St. Mary’s on Saturday.
