Nottingham Forest are searching for answers on the pitch at present, and the situation off it is just as muddy.
Dougie Freedman was fired last month after a run of poor results, while the interim management team of Paul Williams and Andy Reid began with a defeat to rivals Derby, and are still searching for their first win.
A report in The Sun yesterday dramatically claimed Williams was considering his future at the club, with the paper suggesting owner Fawaz Al-Hasawi was interfering in team selection.
This was subsequently denied by the club in a statement to BBC Radio Nottingham.
The claims play on supporter dissatisfaction, with the club sitting in 17th place in the Championship, with one win from 10 games.
Al-Hasawi suspects there is foul play, taking to Twitter to cryptically suggest somebody is stirring up stories to discredit him, even claiming to know who is responsible.
The truth will be revealed soon and we know exactly who is behind all of this. #nffc— @FAWAZ_ALHASAWI (@fawaz_alhasawi1) April 6, 2016
Al-Hasawi is often vocal on social media so it is only right that he came out in some way to address the claims, but whether the manner of his response does him any favours remains to be seen.
