Mark Warburton's Rangers side secured promotion yesterday by beating Dumbarton.
Lukas Podolski has congratulated Rangers on their promotion back to the Scottish Premiership on social media site Twitter.
The Light Blues secured the Scottish Championship title last night, after they beat Dumbarton 1-0 at Ibrox.
James Tavernier scored the goal which ensured that Mark Warburton’s side will be back in Scotland’s top tier next season.
Messages poured in on social media celebrating Rangers’ triumph, and former Arsenal striker Podolski was one of the well-wishers.
Rangers are currently 17 points clear of their nearest rivals, Falkirk, in the Scottish Championship.
The Glasgow side have been a class above their opponents this term, and their promotion has been inevitable for some time.
Now it is confirmed Rangers can begin planning for next season, and Josh Windass is one of the players they will welcome to the group.
Windass is set to spend the rest of this season at Accrington Stanley, but his father, Dean, is looking forward to seeing him strutting his stuff at Ibrox in the 2016/17 campaign.
