The Scot is being backed to take over from Dougie Freedman at the City Ground.
Nottingham Forest are currently on the hunt for a new manager and the likes of Nigel Clough, Nigel Pearson and Steve Cotterill have all been mentioned as potential candidates – along with plenty of other names currently in and out of work, domestic and abroad.
But it seems that punters are happy to back Leeds United boss Steve Evans for the role.
He is now being rated as the joint-favourite with some bookies to be the Forest boss on the opening day of next season.
Bet Victor have him at 9/4 (correct on 06/04/2016) along with Clough.
Other bookies carry a similar theme, with the Leeds and Burton Albion boss now the clear favourites.
The Leeds boss is out of contract at Elland Road in July and in recent weeks his future at the club has been cast into regular doubt by reports in the press.
The Yorkshire Post reported earlier in the week that Leeds United’s boss had received an approach form a Championship rival to manage them next season and the bookies seem to believe that team could be Forest.
If he does get the job, he will jumping from one difficult hotseat into another one – where he will probably have a contract until Monday yet again.
