Austin scored 10 goals for QPR this season, before moving to Southampton in the January transfer window.
The 26-year-old was still QPR’s top scorer over the season up until last night, despite only playing 16 times for them this term.
Tjarron Chery was the man to level Austin at the top of QPR’s goalscoring charts, after he slammed in a penalty against Leeds United.
And Austin was delighted for the attacking midfielder, suggesting it was about time that he caught up with him.
Chery has been in fine form of late, and his penalty against Leeds ensured that the R’s left Elland Road with a point.
Since leaving QPR, Austin has struggled with injury, meaning he has not made too much of an impact at Southampton so far.
Austin scored a winner against Manchester United on his debut, but the former Swindon Town man has not found the net since.
