Mark Warburton's Rangers' side's promotion from the Scottish Championship was confirmed last night, while Celtic could only draw.
Alan Brazil has told TalkSPORT on the Sports Breakfast Show, which was broadcast on 6th April, that he fears Celtic may not be ready for the return of Rangers as they still have not sacked Ronny Deila.
Brazil has links at the Parkhead club, and they all speak very highly of the Norwegian manager’s personable approach. However, Brazil feels that Deila is out of his depth as manager of the Bhoys, and the former Scotland international has suggested that the 40-year-old boss should already have been dismissed.
“They tell me a lovely guy,” Brazil said. “He was meant to come in as assistant and he got the job, but for me he’s not good enough and they should have changed before now.
“I’m a great believer that someone bigger should have come in to get ready for Rangers coming back. Celtic should have acted sooner, he’s a great guy but he’s not for Celtic.”
Rangers’ promotion from the Scottish Championship was confirmed last night, meaning Celtic are expected to have more competition in the Scottish Premiership in the coming years.
The Bhoys have dominated Scottish football for the years that Rangers have spent outside the top flight, but they have struggled this season.
Celtic are by no means guaranteed to win the title this campaign, as they are only five points clear of Aberdeen.
The Bhoys are in poor form, and with Deila’s contract expiring in the summer there are serious question marks forming over whether he will be with the Glasgow side for next term.
