The midfielder is nearing a return after missing five months of the season.
The Spaniard was in fine form in the first half of the campaign, playing a big part as his side made their bid for the Premier League title.
That was curtailed in November though as he picked up a knee injury that has seen him miss the last five months.
He is however nearing his return and Monreal is excited, saying his compatriot is the perfect player for the Gunners.
“Given the way we play, Santi is the perfect player for us because he loves receiving the ball, he told arsenal.com.
"He’s probably one of the most technically-gifted players we have in the team and obviously he brings a lot to the side.”
"Everybody really likes him and we’re aware that his way of playing and the amount of assists and goals he pitches in with are very important for us.”
While Cazorla will be warmly welcomed back into the first team squad at the Emirates, he will face a fight to get back into the team.
In his absence, Mohamed Elneny and Francis Coquelin have formed a strong partnership in the centre of midfield.
Indeed, it is not something that has been missed by manager Arsene Wenger, who commented on the balance that the duo have brought into his side.
That could be an ideal situation for Cazorla though, who can focus on his recovery rather than rushing back and potentially picking up further injuries.
