The Arsenal midfielder has recently returned to first team training.
The midfielder has missed the entirety of this season having picked up the latest in a long line of injuries on the eve of the campaign.
He has now returned to first team training though as he looks to fight his way back into both his club and England’s midfield before the end of the campaign.
Unfortunately however, the headlines have this week been filled with his antics off the pitch, and Keown has said he must be careful how much further he tests his manager’s patience.
“We all know what a wonderful player Jack is, but now he has to be judged on his performances,” he told the Daily Mail.
“Jack has to be careful. He is well-liked at the club and Wenger has invested a lot of time in him.”
“All the injuries afford him a degree a degree of sympathy, but he won't want to test his manager too many more times.”
There is no denying that Wilshere must now prove himself on the pitch having spent so long off of it.
As Keown says, there is no denying his quality when he is fully fit, but his off field antics over the last few years are threatening to spoil that.
With Arsenal having learned to survive without him as well, there is every chance that Wenger may feel that a sale would be the best for both parties should he lose faith in his midfielder.
