Nuhiu was left on the substitutes’ bench for Wednesday’s most recent fixture against Preston north End, but he did not sulk.
Instead the target man came on in the latter stages of the match to great impact, as he helped create Fernando Forestieri’s winning goal.
And Carvalhal said: “All over the world, some players can to go to the bench and are not happy and are upset inside.
“But if they are with the team, they are absolutely amazing because they can show on the pitch that they are not upset, but the opposite – that they can help the team.
“Nuhiu in the last game was a big example. He has played a lot of games this season, but sometimes he has gone to the bench and come on and really effected the game.”
Wednesday’s players have all had to take their place on the substitutes’ bench at some point this season, with Carvalhal favouring a rotational policy.
The Portuguese boss has consistently tinkered with his team selections, to ensure that his side have remained fresh throughout the campaign.
His selection policy certainly seems to have had the desired effect, as Wednesday have been in brilliant form so far this season.
The Owls have climbed into fifth place in the Championship table, and they will be looking to consolidate their place in the play offs over the coming weeks.
Wednesday’s next match comes against Blackburn Rovers later this evening.
