Newcastle United goalkeeper Rob Elliot has taken to social networking site Twitter to send a message ahead of his operation today.
The 29-year-old suffered a serious knee injury during international duty with the Republic of Ireland last month.
The former Charlton Athletic man ruptured knee ligaments in the friendly international match against Slovakia.
Elliot will miss the rest of the season and will also sit out of the Euro 2016 finals in the summer.
The Newcastle goalkeeper has revealed on Twitter that he will undergo an operation today.
