Queens Park Rangers will meet Leeds United at Elland Road later this evening.
QPR are set to face Leeds at Elland Road later this evening, with Hasselbaink set to return to a ground where he is still fondly remembered.
The Dutchman spent two years as a player at Leeds, but he insists that there will be no divided loyalties later this evening.
“You know what you are going to get at Elland Road,” he said. “You are going to get a hard match – with the players and their fans.
“Their fans will be right behind their team. It is a great place to go with a great atmosphere. You have to cherish those moments and make them yours.
“I have got fond memories from my time there. I love the club enormously so I am going back there with a smile – but let’s not get things twisted, I want to get the right result there and show we are a strong force. After the game, we shake hands and we move on.”
Hasselbaink’s QPR side face Leeds at a good time, as the Yorkshire side have been poor in their last two outings.
The Whites have lost against Rotherham United and Huddersfield Town recently, and they have slipped down to 14th in the Championship table as a result.
QPR also go into the match on the back of a defeat to Middlesbrough, but their performance have been improved of late.
The R’s have looked impressive under the stewardship of Hasselbaink in recent weeks, and they would consolidate their position in the top half of the Championship table if they are able to be victorious at Elland Road later this evening.
