The Black Cats boss went old school for his training session on Tuesday.
The Black Cats are currently 18th in the table and four points from safety after their draw with West Bromwich Albion at the weekend.
Their hopes were not helped by Norwich City’s last gasp win over Newcastle United either as that result took the Canaries further from the drop zone.
The fight is not over yet however, with the relegation fight set to go down to the wire and Allardyce, it appears, will try anything to make sure his side aren’t going down.
That has seen him to old school tactics, as he took his squad out for an old fashioned training session on the beach.
Wrapped up in winter wear, the Sunderland squad were put through their paces on a typically cold and wet Roker Beach.
And after a miserable start, they soon seemed to be enjoying it as the log dog walkers watched on.
Allardyce will now be hoping the now unorthodox training session has the desired affect as his side gear up to take on league leaders Leicester City this weekend.
