Both Liverpool and Tottenham know what it is like to have their transfer moves hijacked by Jose Mourinho, with the 'Special One' doing so smugly during his second spell with Chelsea.
And just this week Mohamed Salah admitted, The Liverpool Echo reported, that he was close to joining Liverpool from Basel until Mourinho's Chelsea stepped in and won the race for his signature.
Now history could be shaping up to repeat itself regarding Fulham striker Moussa Dembele, who is interesting both Liverpool and Tottenham, with the North London side even having him in for a medical in January. French newspaper L'Equipe has reported interest from both clubs in the talented prospect.
A new report in The Sun suggests Mourinho is busy scouting players ahead of his expected appointment at Manchester United, one of which is Moussa Dembele, who is out of contract at the end of the season.
Mourinho was in attendance at Craven Cottage at the weekend as Fulham took on MK Dons, The Mail reported.
SkySports reported that United were interested in Dembele back in December, and if Mourinho likes what he sees then it will not be a surprise to see him push through interest in the talented young striker, especially if it means he can get one over on a couple of rival clubs too.
19-year-old Dembele scored and set one up in front of a watching Mourinho at the weekend in a 2-1 victory for Fulham.
With a goal last night too against Preston, his tally for the season is now 14 goals and five assists in the Championship.
