Former Newcastle United attacker David Ginola said on the Alan Brazil Sports Breakfast show on talkSPORT on Tuesday morning (broadcast from 6am, April 5) that Everton attacking midfielder Ross Barkley has not been consistent this season.
“Ross Barkley in the middle of the park, exceptional talent, but not consistent enough in his performance,” said the former France international while discussing the performances of some of the Everton players.
It seems that former Everton man Ginola rates Barkley highly, but he has not been impressed with the performances of the England international attacking midfielder this season.
The 22-year-old is a hugely talented player and has a bright future ahead, but he has not always performed to the best of his ability this season.
The England international has scored eight goals and created 46 chances in 30 Premier League appearances for Everton so far this campaign.
Barkley has a pass accuracy of 87% and a shot accuracy of 51%, and has won 22 headers, 98 dribbles and 19 tackles.
Everton are 12th in the Premier League table at the moment with 38 points from 30 matches.
The Toffees will return to action on Saturday afternoon when they take on Watford away from home at Vicarage Road in the Premier League.
