BBC pundit suggests how Leicester can help Everton

Leicester City are at the top of the Premier League table at the moment, while Everton are in the bottom half.

Former Norwich City and Blackburn Rovers striker Chris Sutton said on The Monday Night Club show on BBC Radio 5 live Sport on Monday evening (broadcast from 7pm, April 4) that Leicester City should send a DVD of their defending to Everton manager Roberto Martinez.

“They (Leicester) should send a DVD to Roberto Martinez at Everton on how to defend,” said Sutton.

Sutton may have been taking a dig at Everton, but there can be no denial that the Toffees do need to defend better.

League leaders Leicester have conceded 31 goals in 32 Premier League games so far this season, while Everton have shipped 42 in 30.

The Foxes do not have the best defenders in the English top flight individually, but collectively and as a unit, their defence has been marvellous this campaign.

The likes of Wes Morgan and Robert Huth are no-nonsense and hard defenders with loads of experience.

Everton are brilliant going forward, but defensively they have struggled this season, and that is a main reason why they are in the bottom half of the Premier League table at the moment.
