Three Leeds United players with a big point to prove against QPR

Leeds host Queens Park Rangers at Elland Road on Tuesday night.

Giuseppi Bellusci

Most players would be dropped after the error the Leeds United defender made against Rotherham on Saturday afternoon.

But Steve Evans was keen to defend the Italian after the match. He feels Bellusci was 'outstanding' for 85 minutes and that a player shouldn't be hung out to dry after a mistake.

That suggests the centre-back may well keep his place against QPR on Tuesday - but another shocker won't do his position any good among the United fans. Saturday wasn't the first time Bellusci has made a game-changing error, after all...

Chris Wood

The 24-year-old New Zealander will most likely be forced to start up front due to the unavailability of others and Leeds fans are far from sold on the target man right now.

Wood's finishing and decision making were criticised earlier this season but he always had the evidence of the striker being Leeds' top scorer backing him up.

Wood's long spells out injured, though, have allowed Mirco Antenucci to overtake him in the goals department. If he plays against QPR, the forward needs a big performance.

Bailey Peacock-Farrell

The pressure will be on the Leeds youngster during his debut. No one will be expecting miracles from him and the Elland Road crowd will get behind the goalkeeper during his first start.

But, for all of Steve Evans' praise for Peacock-Farrell, he hasn't been given his debut yet... until now - when it is forced through Marco Silvestri's suspension.

That may reduce his confidence a little and the authenticity of Evans' comments might have to be questioned. Peacock-Farrell has to prove he deserves his place and that he shouldn't be thrown back to the bench when Silvestri returns.
