Jamie Redknapp had high praise for Anthony Martial after his winner against Everton.
Former midfielder and pundit Jamie Redknapp has hailed Manchester United striker Anthony Martial after his winner and all round performance against Everton.
The 20-year-old now has three goals in his last four games, and is an exciting talent for the future for the club to build around.
Redknapp told The Mail: "In a nondescript season under Louis van Gaal, he is the one player who can do something special. Martial is only 20 but he is fearless and when he runs at defenders, they are petrified of him.
"People questioned his £58million transfer fee but he’s been United’s glimmer of hope — and is proving to be worth every penny."
With eight goals it is worth noting that Martial is United's top league scorer, which says a lot about the pressure being placed on him right now.
England international Wayne Rooney is hoping to return from injury soon, meaning Marcus Rashford could drop out of the starting XI.
Martial is expected to be part of the France squad for Euro 2016, and has the potential to be one of the stars of the tournament if he gets enough game time - although if he spends it sitting on the bench, United fans will surely be just as happy to see him rested.
