German outfit Dortmund will take on the Premier League side at home in the first leg of the Europa League quarter-finals on Thursday evening.
Former Liverpool striker Owen has backed the Bundesliga side to win the match at Signal Iduna Park.
“I shall be in the Westfalenstadion for the return of Jurgen Klopp to Dortmund and the Reds boss is sure to get a warm reception until the whistle goes!” the former England international wrote on Betvictor.com.
“Liverpool have conceded just six goals in their last 12 Europa League games but this is a top class German side who wouldn’t look out of place in the last eight of the Champions League.”
A footnote added: “Michael’s recommendation: Dortmund to lead at halftime and fulltime at 13/10.”
Dortmund are a much better team than Liverpool and are favourites to go through to the semi-finals of the Europa League from this tie.
Playing at home is also going to give an advantage to Thomas Tuchel’s side, who will head into the game as favourites.
The German outfit have a number of top players, such as Marco Reus, Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, and it could be a busy evening for the Liverpool defenders.
Liverpool are unlikely to win in Germany, but if they can get an away goal and lose maybe 2-1 or 3-1, then they will have a small chance of progressing to the last four.
