Everton manager Roberto Martinez has been criticised by many for the team's disappointing performances and results this season, but Ball believes that the players need to take some responsibility.
The former Everton defender has taken to Twitter to strongly criticise the players.
Excuse of players have lost the manager.I won't except! Not helping themselves who wants to stay or move on with their performances this year— Michael Ball (@bally03) April 4, 2016
Yes the manager has lot questions to answer. But soon as u cross that white line players need to find a way to win games. #LackOfPassion— Michael Ball (@bally03) April 4, 2016
Martinez is rightly under pressure, but Ball’s comments about players not doing enough are perfectly valid as well.
After all, there is so much a manager can do, and it is up to the players to execute the plans forged by the boss before matches.
Everton have been defensively disappointing all season, and that has been a main reason behind their poor league position.
Given the players that the Merseyside outfit have at the moment, they should be competing for a top-six spot in the Premier League.
Instead, Everton find themselves 12th in the standings at the moment, with a top-10 finish in doubt.
