Tottenham Hotspur boss Mauricio Pochettino has told the Daily Mail that Harry Kane has proven him right once again with his performance against Liverpool.
Kane scored Spurs’ equaliser against Liverpool with a crisp finish, which took his total to 22 goals for the season.
Kane now sits clear at the top of the Premier League’s goalscoring charts, and Pochettino feels that the England international’s display proved his quality once again.
“I say the same thing every week, that Harry is one of the best strikers in the world and today again he proved I'm not wrong,” the Argentine boss said.
Kane’s goal at Anfield was record breaking, as no other Tottenham player has ever hit 22 goals in a Premier League season before.
The 22-year-old forward has now hit over 20 goals in the last two league campaigns, and his wonderful form has been a major reason why Spurs have pushed for the title this season.
Kane is the only out-an-out senior striker at White Hart Lane, but he has dealt with the responsibility well to become a key player for club and country.
Tottenham are next in action on Sunday against Manchester United, and they will need to win that match to ensure that they keep the pressure on league leaders Leicester City.
