Arsenal legend Ian Wright has hit back at criticisms about his comment about Aston Villa on social networking site Twitter.
The former England international striker made himself unpopular among the Villa supporters over the weekend by claiming that the Villans are not as big a club as Birmingham City and Wolverhampton Wanderers.
Wright, though, has hit back at criticisms levelled against him, as the following tweet shows.
I'm in good company! Your board, your players, and fans like you. All the best for the rest of the season. https://t.co/TGU84HNF3Y— Ian Wright (@IanWright0) April 4, 2016
Wright is entitled to have his own opinion about Villa, and it must be respected whether one agrees with it or not.
Villa, Birmingham and Wolves are all big clubs, and there is a good chance that all of them will be in the Championship next season.
The Villans are rooted to the foot of the Premier League table at the moment and look destined for the drop.
Wolves are unlikely to clinch a playoff spot in the Championship this season, while Birmingham could miss out on a top-six finish.
It will be interesting to see how Villa fare in the Championship next season, as the second tier of English football is fiercely competitive and very tough.
