Aleksandar Mitrovic netted twice as Newcastle slipped to defeat to Norwich.
Mitrovic came off the bench and nearly rescued Rafa Benitez's side against Norwich City, twice bringing the Magpies level.
This was not enough to prevent them slipping to a 3-2 loss to the Canaries, with Martin Olsson scoring an injury time winner.
Mitrovic had chances himself to go on and win it for Newcastle before Norwich hit back late on.
The Serbian was the only Newcastle player selected in Redknapp's team of the weekend, with match winner Olsson selected at left-back.
Mitrovic was one of two strikers picked out in recognition of their performances, joining Tottenham top scorer Harry Kane in the XI.
It has been a difficult season for Mitrovic in his debut campaign in England, with disciplinary issues raising their head early on, and struggling with the burden of leading the line for an under performing side.
Yet with a goal a fortnight earlier against Sunderland too, he is stepping up when he is most needed, and with a bit more fortune Newcastle could have had more to show for his efforts, instead they remain stuck in the relegation zone.
