Southampton fans urge club to keep Forster and Van Dijk on Twitter

The Saints faithful were delighted by the two defensive rocks against Leicester City on Sunday afternoon.

Southampton supporters are understandably keen for the South Coast club to hold on to Fraser Forster and Virgil van Dijk this summer.

Indeed, the goalkeeper and defender impressed mightily once more at Leicester City on Sunday afternoon.

The Foxes won 1-0 against Ronald Koeman's men, ensuring a seven-point lead at the top of the Premier League table.

But the scoreline could have been a lot more convincing had Van Dijk and Forster not produced such stunning defensive displays.

And Southampton fans weren't slow to recognise their contributions on social media. On Twitter, the Dutch centre-back and England shot stopper were lauded by supporters, with particular focus given to keeping the duo at St Mary's.

The Southampton pair may well be the subject of interest ahead of next season, with a number of Premier League clubs needing to boost their back four - and especially in the goalkeeping department.

But there's a clear message from the stands and on Twitter...
