The Frenchman scored another free kick in the 2-2 draw with Crystal Palace.
The Frenchman was in superb form on Saturday afternoon as he starred in his sides controversial 2-2 draw with the Eagles.
He was on target from a free kick yet again, as he curled a delightful 20-yard effort into the top corner to hand his side the lead.
Surprisingly though, Bilic claims his star man wasn’t at full fitness for the game having been away with France during the recent international break.
“It was a brilliant goal,” Bilic told London 24.
“I expected him to try and bend it over the wall, my assistant (Julian Dicks) he came to me before and I said I also scored one like that. I said no way!
“Maybe Payet wasn’t that sharp in the game because don’t forget he has had a couple of games for France that were everything for him but friendly games.”
The Hammers will now be hoping that Payet can continue his fine form between now and the end of the season.
They will need him at their best if they are to secure a top four finish, with his performances having gotten them within touching distance of it so far.
Saturday’s draw was a dent to those hopes of Champions League football as Manchester City manager to open up a three-point gap with their win over Bournemouth.
In this crazy season though, that gap is not insurmountable and they will need Payet at his best to make a top four spot their own.
