The Liverpool star has been in fine form in recent weeks.
The Brazilian has found himself playing in a wide left role for Liverpool this season instead of his favoured number ten role.
It has been a move that has seen him flourish though, with Saturday’s game 1-1 draw against Tottenham Hotspur again seeing him shine.
And Carragher believes that Klopp moving him has seen him get the best out of the player, adding that Coutinho is now among the best in the Premier League.
“We’re looking at a player now where he’s looking like one of the top players in the league,” he told Sky Sports.
“What Jurgen Klopp has done is actually kept the creativity of Coutinho in a central area out wide while also getting the work rate.”
“Maybe because he doesn’t get so many goals or assists, the manager thinks he wants more of an attacking threat from there [the number ten] so he puts him out wide and gets the best of both worlds.”
The Reds will now be hoping that Coutinho can continue his fine form as they look to finish the season strongly.
A Champions League place is probably beyond their grasp with Manchester City now nine points away, but the Europa League is very much in their sights.
First they must make their way past Jurgen Klopp’s former Borussia Dortmund, which will be an extremely hard tie for them, and they will need Coutinho at his best if they are to progress in that competition.
