The South Korean got the nod but put in an inconsistent performance.
Spurs could not get the much needed win at Anfield and in the end were thankful for Harry Kane’s turn and finish which cancelled out Philippe Coutinho’s earlier strike.
But did Mauricio Pochettino make a mistake in his starting XI?
Spurs went with Heung-min Son from the start against Liverpool and the South Korean looked bright early on.
But overall he put in a disappointing performance from the right-hand side for Spurs.
He struggled physically to battle with Alberto Moreno and there is surely a question to be asked as to whether they would have been better starting Nacer Chadli.
The Belgian ended up coming on for Son and his physicality was missing in the latter third of the pitch, especially with Moreno looking ropey.
It was a tough call for Mauricio Pochettino to make and he could have gone either way.
But in hindsight you wonder if Chadli would have been the better option for this fixture.
