The BBC pundit has been discussing the Liverpool playmaker after the 1-1 draw against Tottenham.
Indeed, the BBC pundit highlighted several passages of play where the Brazilian was superb but his team-mates not quite on his wavelength against Tottenham.
And Wright told MOTD on Saturday night: "If Liverpool do well, it’s going to be down to the consistency of Philippe Coutinho. Everything that’s good for Liverpool, he’s involved.
"They could have easily won the game just through the quality of Coutinho."
The Brazilian playmaker is world class at his best but the issue has been consistency over the years for Liverpool.
Against Spurs, Coutinho was very good, just as Harry Kane was for Tottenham, with both teams' leading lights coming to the fore at Anfield.
Liverpool and Tottenham drawing twice this season is a sign of how equal the two teams can be at their peak and both should be in for a tremendous season next term should everything go smoothly.
As Wright says, for the Reds, Coutinho will be key to any success.
