Newcastle United are in danger of getting relegated to the Championship at the end of the season.
Micky Quinn said on the Alan Brazil Sports Breakfast show on talkSPORT on Friday morning (broadcast from 6am, April 1) that he has been disappointed with Moussa Sissoko’s performances for Newcastle United so far this season.
“He has been so disappointing this year," said the former Newcastle forward about Sissoko. "Physically he is one of the strongest Premier League players. He can run at pace at defences, he just hasn’t done it enough this season."
Sissoko has created 51 chances in 29 Premier League appearances for Newcastle so far this campaign.
The France international midfielder has a pass accuracy of 77% and a shot accuracy of 37%, and has won 41 headers, 66 dribbles and 33 tackles.
The 26-year-old has been inconsistent and has blown hot and cold, something he needs to rectify.
The former Toulouse star still remains an important player for Newcastle, though, and he will be key to the Magpies’ chances of survival in the Premier League this season.
Rafael Benitez's side are second from bottom in the league table at the moment and are in serious danger of getting relegated to the Championship at the end of the season.
Newcastle will return to action this afternoon when they take on fellow relegation candidates Norwich City away from home at Carrow Road in the Premier League.
