The former United goalkeeper believes that if David de Gea leaves for Real Madrid at the end of the season, then Lloris would be a good candidate to replace him.
Schmeichel made the comments during the Premier League game between Liverpool and Tottenham at Anfield on Saturday evening.
France international goalkeeper Lloris made as many as nine saves over the course of the 90 minutes, as the match ended in a 1-1 draw.
While Spurs fans will not be pleased with Schmeichel’s comments, his remarks are still worrying as Lloris is one of the best players in the Premier League and is good enough to play for United.
Lloris is one of the best goalkeepers in the world and is arguably the only world-class player in the current Tottenham squad.
In 31 Premier League appearances so far this season, the 29-year-old goalkeeper has kept 11 clean sheets, and has made 1.94 saves per game and 2.73 saves per goal on average.
