Report: Slaven Bilic has asked Dimitri Payet to help West Ham bring in former team-mate Michy Batshuayi

The pair played together at Marseille before Payet became a West Ham

West Ham United have had an exceptional season this term and remain in the hunt for the Premier League top four.

This summer the club are going to want to build on that success, with some transfer buys set to arrive ahead of their first season at the Olympic Stadium.

One position they are looking to improve on is up front.

The likes of Enner Valencia, Andy Carroll and Diafra Sakho have all struggled with injury this term and some big names have been linked with the club – including Belgian striker Michy Batshuayi.

Now it is being reported that Slaven Bilic is using Dimitri Payet to try and lure him to the club.

Le 10 Sport are reporting L’Equipe as claiming that the Croatian has raised the subject with Payet regarding his former Marseille team-mate.

Payet, who has excelled at West Ham since arriving from the Ligue 1 giants, was good friends with the striker during his time at the Stade Velodrome and will hopefully be able to convince him that West Ham is the place to be next season.

The 22-year-old Belgian has scored 18 goals this season in 42 appearances for Marseille.
