It is looking like there is plenty of change afoot at Aston Villa.
The club look set to drop down to the Championship next season and as well as a chop-and-change to the management at the Midlands club the playing staff is also likely to change.
Aston Villa re likely to want to get rid of some of their highest earners – especially some of the summer signings who have not quite cut it in England.
One such player is Senegal international Idrissa Gana Gueye.
He was recently linked with a move to French side Marseille and a report in France is now suggestion how much Villa could make off of Marseille’s interest.
Le 10 Sport claims in an exclusive that Marseille are ready to pay up to €10 million (£8 million) to bring the player from Villa Park – and will pay him the same wages as he is currently on at the English club.
Gana Gueye looks like a player who in a different team, or a different season, could have thrived in English football. But this term it has not quite worked out for the 26-year-old.
But getting his wages off the books must be a priority this summer and it might be worth taking the hit in the long-term.
