Report: Crystal Palace stars unhappy with wages

Crystal Palace Selhurst Park

The Eagles have been on a woeful run of form, taking just four points from their last 13 Premier League games.

The Mirror claims that some of Crystal Palace's star players are becoming unhappy with what is being seen as a large disparity in wages.

The newspaper go on to claim that there is no ill-feeling towards manager Alan Pardew, but the likes of Dwight Gayle and Yannick Bolasie are becoming increasingly fed up that some team-mates are on bigger contracts.

The Mirror insists this had led to resentment within the squad, and could go someway to explaining their abysmal run of form.

Certain players are bitter about the fact that their contracts are dwarfed by others such as Yohan Cabaye and Emmanuel Adebayor.

Rumours of Bolasie's discontent could put some clubs on red alert. The Congolese international has drawn praise for his performances this season, and has been linked with a host of the Premier League's big clubs.

He would certainly be an asset to any side, with his power and pace proving an important part in Palace's direct style.

For the Premier League run-in, the Eagles will need the likes of Bolasie to be at their best as they look to reverse their slump in form.

With huge games coming up over the next few weeks, starting with West Ham today, Palace will be dragged into a relegation dog-fight if they continue their bad run.

Alan Pardew will be desperate for a win at his old club, but he will know that his side can expect a very tough afternoon.

The Hammers have been on a terrific run of form taking 10 points from their last four games.
