Neil Warnock reacts to win over Leeds, makes joke about his heart

New York Stadium sign, Rotherham

The Rotherham boss joked after beating former club Leeds 2-1.

Neil Warnock has joked that his heart can't take too much more drama after Rotherham United's 2-1 win over Leeds United on Saturday afternoon, according to the club's official website.

Indeed, Warnock guided the Millers to a one-goal victory over his former club in the Championship.

And he says he now needs a good medical at the end of the season!

Warnock is quoted as saying by the Rotherham site: "I don’t know if I can carry on doing much more like this, my heart is taking a beating. Three nil down against Derby and this today, I need a good medical at the end of the season.

"I was brought up to never give in; wherever I have been I have had players like this, who would just do that little bit more."

The win sums up Rotherham's do or die attitude right now. As Warnock says, the players are willing to fight for every point and have given themselves an excellent chance of staying up.

The Leeds squad don't quite possess the same motivation, knowing they are realistically safe but that the chance for a memorable season has long since gone.

Still, that's no excuse for the Leeds players - or Steve Evans. The future of the United boss will certainly be under scrutiny this summer if not before. But owner Massimo Cellino will struggle to move the club forward whoever he hires.
