Michail Antonio names Romelu Lukaku as toughest opponent

The West Ham United and Everton star's faced each other in March.

West Ham United attacker Michail Antonio has told Soccer Am that Everton marksman Romelu Lukaku is the toughest Premier League opponent he has faced, noting he would sign him for the Irons.

The 22-year-old striker is enjoying his most productive campaign in England, netting 25 goals in all competitions - 18 in the Premier League, four in the League Cup and three in the FA Cup - to emerge as one of Europe's most lethal hitmen this season.

Antonio came up against the big Belgian in the Irons' 3-2 win at Goodison Park last month, and the former Nottingham Forest man would love to play alongside him for the East Londoners.

“Lukaku. He’s just a threat, he’s got everything that you need for a striker, so would be good competition for me," he said on Sky Sports' Soccer Am. "Lukaku, without a doubt.”

Although West Ham are indeed in the market for a centre-forward, Lukaku is surely out of their price range if recent figures are to be believed.

According to The Sun, the Toffees' hierarchy will not part company for the former Chelsea man for anything less than £56million - double what Everton paid the Blues to nab him in 2014.
