Michael Owen makes a claim about Premier League title race

Leicester City

Leicester City will take on Southampton in the Premier League on Sunday.

Former Manchester United and Liverpool striker Michael Owen has taken to social networking site Twitter to claim that Leicester City could wrap up the Premier League title on Sunday.

Owen believes that if Leicester win their game against Southampton at the King Power Stadium on Sunday afternoon, then they will clinch the title.

As things stand, Leicester are four points clear of second-placed Tottenham Hotspur at the top of the Premier League table.

If the Foxes win against the Saints, then they will go seven points clear at the top, and with six more rounds of games remaining, that will be it.

Of course, Leicester could drop points in the coming weeks, just as Tottenham did against Liverpool away from home at Anfield on Saturday evening, but they will have a comfortable cushion.

Arsenal will still fancy their chances of winning the Premier League title despite the fact that they are as many as eight points off the pace.
