The former Borussia Dortmund boss has been a big hit at Anfield.
The former Borussia Dortmund manager has been a big hit at the club since replacing Brendan Rodgers back in October.
His side have been inconsistent to say the least though, with a number of impressive wins tempered by disappointing losses.
Nonetheless, it is clear to see the German is building something at Anfield and Ricken has urged Liverpool’s supporters to remain calm as he does it.
“The problem at this point in time is his team is not as good as the team (he built) in Dortmund,” FourFourTwo reports him saying.
“But when he moved from Mainz to Dortmund, it was the same. After one or two years he changed the whole team, (so) it’s very important to be calm in Liverpool.”
“Jurgen Klopp will improve the players that are in Liverpool and he will get some new players. This season is very difficult, but the next one, two or three seasons, I think Liverpool will be very successful.”
The general consensus now seems to be that next season will be when Klopp’s influence will truly be seen at Anfield.
Much will likely rest on the work he can do in the transfer market, with many expecting him to be busy as he seeks to mould the squad he inherited from Rodgers into one that fits his ideology.
Should he be successful in doing so, and get a full pre-season in, there is no denying that next season could be a very exciting one for Liverpool fans.
