The Owls travel to face Huddersfield Town in the Championship this weekend.
Carlos Carvalhal's men travel across Yorkshire to face Huddersfield Town in the Championship on Saturday, and Hunt - who spent almost 15 years coming through the ranks with the Terriers - explained how important the fans have been when the Owls have been away from Hillsborough.
"It really feels like you are playing at home every week because there is so many travelling," he told the Star.
"You can hear them from start to finish and they get us through games at times so it’s brilliant to have so many travelling and hopefully that continues.
"I can't remember how many were at Nottingham [last month] but that was a brilliant support and I'm sure there’ll be thousands there [at Huddersfield] too.
"I'm sure the tickets will be sold out and hopefully we can get a result for them."
The support appears to have had a positive impact on the squad as they currently find themselves in the top six in the table with just eight games to go.
In their most recent away fixture, they managed to thrash Nottingham Forest 3-0 to end a run of five games without a win, so will be hoping that the supporters that travel to the John Smith's Stadium will be able to recreate a similar atmosphere.
And with all of their remaining fixtures away from home being very winnable on paper, Wednesday's players will be hoping that the fans can continue to inspire them on their travels to ensure that they secure a play-off spot.
