Darren Huckerby reacts on Twitter to Norwich’s thrilling win over Newcastle

Norwich City beat Newcastle United 3-2 at Carrow Road.

Former Carrow Road favourite Darren Huckerby has taken to social network site Twitter in order to laud Norwich City’s last-gasp 3-2 win over relegation rivals Newcastle United.

The two teams started the days separated by just three points and many felt it was the biggest game of the season for the duo considering their current position and what was at stake.

After a tentative opening period, the game swung back and forth as Norwich twice took the lead but were pegged back by Newcastle striker Aleksandar Mitrovic, with his second being a late penalty.

Yet when a 2-2 draw seemed to be on cards heading in to injury time, Martin Olsson combined with Johnny Howson to fire in a precious winner and condemn the Magpies to pure misery.

Writing on Twitter at full-time, Huckerby cited the amazing scenes and felt Norwich were deserved winners.

On the balance of it, Norwich probably created the better chances over the 90 minutes yet after Newcastle equalised late on, they squandered a superb opportunity to take all three points.

The win for Norwich moves Alex Neil’s side up to 31 points in the table, four points clear of Sunderland who only managed to secure a 0-0 draw at home to West Bromwich Albion.

With the Black Cats still to visit Norfolk between now and May, survival is very much in Norwich’s hands and they will head to Crystal Palace next weekend confident of picking up a positive result.
