The German under-21 international has been linked with a big move to White Hart Lane.

Borussia Monchengladbach sporting director Max Eberl has made it clear this week that Spurs will not be getting their hands on young talent Mahmoud Dahoud.

Tottenham Hotspur are being linked with plenty of new signings this summer as they look to build on an impressive season in the Premier League and Europe.

However, anybody that does make the move to Spurs will need to be capable of playing Mauricio Pochettino’s high pressing game.

This style of play is very popular in Germany, so Bundesliga names were bound to be linked with the club.

One such player is Borussia Monchengladbach midfielder Dahoud.

It was reported by Bild that Spurs were readying a move for the player, stating a fee for the player could potentially be worth up to £27.5 million and that Tottenham he would loan him back to Gladbach for a season before heading to White Hart Lane in 2017.

It was quite a claim, but the German club are now denying he is going anywhere. Their sporting director Eberl is quoted by 4-4-2 as stating:

"He is a great player. We have no trouble with having proposals for him.

"Mo (Dahoud) will stay with us,"

The Germany under-21 international has really come to the fore for Gladbach this season – featuring in 35 games and scoring four goals.

Borussia Dortmund are also said to be keen on the player but as far as his current club are concerned it seems Dahoud is going nowhere.
