BBC pundit suggests one player Aston Villa fans don’t have a problem with

Aston Villa lost 4-0 to Chelsea in the Premier League on Saturday.

Former Tottenham Hotspur manager David Pleat suggested on BBC 5 live Sport on Saturday afternoon (14:33) that Aston Villa fans do not have a problem with Alan Hutton.

Pleat made the comments during the Premier League game between Villa and Chelsea at Villa Park on Saturday afternoon.

Hutton, who is 31 years of age and plays as a right-back, was dismissed in the 85th minute.

"And yet Alan Hutton gets applauded off by the Villa fans,” said the Englishman on BBC 5 live Sport on Saturday afternoon (14:33). “That suggests he's one of the few home players the fans haven't got a problem with…"

During his time on the pitch at Villa Park, Hutton took one shot, had a pass accuracy of 82%, created one chance, put in one cross, attempted three dribbles, won 50% of his tackles, and made two interceptions, two clearances and two blocks.

The Scotland international defender has created 18 chances in 24 Premier League appearances for Villa so far this season.

Hutton has a pass accuracy of 75%, and a shot accuracy of 17%, and has won 28 headers, 12 dribbles and 33 tackles.

Villa are at the foot of the Premier League table at the moment with 16 points from 32 matches.
