BBC pundit Garth Crooks comments on Dimitri Payet’s superb strike against Palace

Payet Skill

West Ham United’s Dimitri Payet scored a fabulous goal against Crystal Palace.

Former player Garth Crooks has labelled Dimtri Payet’s strike against Crystal Palace an unbelievable goal as he found the top corner from a free-kick 25 yards from goal, the BBC reports.

West Ham United’s star performer came back from international duty with France buoyed by his decent showing and ready to help the Hammers clinch a place in the top four.

Slaven Bilic’s side have been in terrific form of late, yet they came up against a stubborn Crystal Palace side who got numbers behind the ball and made it difficult for the hosts to break them down.

It was always going to take a piece of magic to break the Eagles’ resistance, and Payet duly obliged with a phenomenal free-kick which BBC pundit Garth Crooks implores Premier League observers to view.

"You've got to see this! You've got to! His shot flew past Hennessey in the blink of an eye and into the back of a net through the space of a postage stamp. An unbelievable goal!" Crooks said on BBC Radio Five Live.

Payet has made a habit of scoring spectacular goals this season, and his strike against Palace was arguably just as impressive as his 35-yard wonder goal against Manchester United in the FA Cup.

There may not be a better free-kick taker on the planet than the former Marseille man at present, most certainly not in the Premier League at least as Payet continues to amaze in West Ham colours.

Unfortunately for Payet and his team-mates, his superb free-kick wasn’t enough to earn West Ham all three points as Dwight Gayle’s late equaliser after Cheikhou Kouyate’s dismissal made it 2-2.
