Aston Villa fans have taken to social networking site Twitter to have their say on John Carver’s application for the managerial job.
Former Newcastle United manager Carver has revealed that he has applied for the managerial role at Villa.
"I have yes, via my agent,” the Englishman told BBC Sport on Friday evening. "I've haven’t heard anything yet, though. I think whatever they do, they have to do it reasonably quickly to get a steal on everybody else.”
Carver has been without a managerial job since the summer of 2015 after he guided Newcastle to Premier League safety.
The 51-year-old took charge of the Newcastle first team during the middle of last season following the departure of Alan Pardew to Crystal Palace.
The Magpies were doing relatively well at the moment and appeared set for a mid-table finish in the Premier League.
However, under Carver, the Magpies went on a slide and narrowly avoided relegated to the Championship at the end of the 2014-15 campaign.
Villa are at the foot of the Premier League table at the moment and look set to go down to the Championship at the end of the season.
Newcastle and Villa fans have taken to Twitter to have their say on Carver's job application.
