Borussia Dortmund chuckled when they learned they had drawn Liverpool in the Europa League, star man Marco Reus has told Bild, reported by the Daily Mail

The two sides meet in the competition next week having managed to successfully negotiate their way past the last 16 round.

The Reds beat rivals Manchester United, while Dortmund were impressive in wins over Tottenham Hotspur.

It will be a special occasion for Jurgen Klopp; with the clash the first time he has faced his former club since he left them last summer.

And Reus admits that he and his teammates chuckled when they saw the draw, but the draw is not about their old manager.

'We accept the draw,” the Daily Mail reports him saying.

“We're professional and hungry for success. We chuckled when we heard the news because it was clear the old coach will return home.”

“But we directly said that it's not BVB versus Klopp, but rather Dortmund versus Liverpool.”

The German star also says that his side will have to be at their best to overcome his former manager’s new side.

In particular he is wary of their attacking prowess, with the likes of Daniel Sturridge and Roberto Firmino having proved potent in recent weeks.

Midfielder Philippe Coutinho has also started to return to his best form as the trio become Liverpool’s main danger, and Reus says their attacking talent is great.

“Should we wane just a few percentage points then we'll be without a chance. They have a good team, and especially in attack they have great players,” he added.
