The Owls' number 45 beat off competition from Bristol City and Leeds United players to win the accolade.
Wednesday endured a difficult start to the month, losing at home to Rotherham United and drawing on the road to Brighton & Hove Albion - in which there is no shame - with Forestieri featuring in neither due to suspension.
Since his return, though, the Owls have recorded back-to-back 3-0 wins, with the Italian providing a goal and an assist in that time.
And his displays in those two fixtures were enough to see him voted as the PFA fans' player of the month, beating off competition from Bristol City's Lee Tomlin (who scored two goals in March), Leeds United's Mirco Antenucci (four) and a host of others who failed to make the final shortlist.
Wednesday are fast becoming the Arsenal of the Championship when it comes to polls, with five of this season's eight monthly awards heading to Hillsborough.
Ross Wallace, Forestieri and Lucas Joao ensured the Owls had three straight winners between September and November, while Gary Hooper claimed the last one in January.
And most Wednesdayites have reacted with amusement...
Brilliant! Wasn't even in the top 3 of the club player of the month award. This award is a fan popularity contest! https://t.co/QWpP5bh6dq— Andy Parsons (@andypars) 1 April 2016
Love the fact foriestieri got player of the month, even though he was suspended for half the games— JB4 (@jakebensonswfc) 1 April 2016
Was out for half the month and Forestieri still wins the PFA award, what a player— Rob (@RobHirst9) 1 April 2016
Forestieri's performance at Forest deserves that award alone and a goal against Charlton He terrorises defences & compliments Hooper too.— Danny Ryan (@D4NI3LRyan) 1 April 2016
Ah, there's always one...
