Report: West Ham United want Yaya Toure

West Ham United want Manchester City stalwart Yaya Toure, according to reports.

West Ham United are reportedly in talks with the agent of Manchester City star Yaya Toure over a summer switch to East London, according to The Express.

Toure is rumoured to be leaving Eastlands at the end of the season as Pep Guardiola - who sold him to the Sky Blues at Barcelona - will replace manager Manuel Pellegrini.

It remains to be seen if the 32-year-old, who turns 33 in May, will have his contract extended, with his existing deal set to expire in a little over 12 month's time.

Amid the uncertainty, The Express claim that his agent Dimitri Seluk has opened talks with the Hammers for the Ivorian midfielder, who has helped inspire City to two Premier League titles during his six-year stay at the Etihad so far.

The report might worry Liverpool who, in March, were deemed the most likely Premier League club to sign Toure by Ladbrokes, with his brother Kolo already plying his trade at Anfield.

Despite his advancing years, the Man City powerhouse - who earns £220,000 per week - still has enough to offer any Premier League side, though his wages might be the biggest deterrent for sides like West Ham.
