Seydou Doumbia is unlikely to make Newcastle United's match day squad for the game against Norwich City this weekend, The Star report.
Doumbia, 28, has barely featured since signing on loan from Roma in January, struggling for fitness.
New manager Rafa Benitez is reportedly unimpressed, and is more likely to turn to Papiss Cisse, who has returned to fitness.
The Star also report that Doumbia's chance of landing a permanent deal look slim, claiming there is a clause in his loan deal which says he must feature in seven of the club's remaining games, if he is to automatically trigger a contract offer.
Doumbia has played just three games as a substitute so far, amassing a combined 29 minutes of game time, three minutes of which have come under Rafa Benitez, coming off the bench briefly in his first game in charge against Leicester - and failing to touch the ball.
