Rangers legend predicts Ibrox side to lose to Celtic

Ibrox side Rangers will take on Old Firm rivals Celtic in the semi-finals of the Scottish Cup this month.

Barry Ferguson has predicted in The Daily Record that Celtic will win against his former club Rangers in the semi-finals of the Scottish Cup this month.

Celtic and Old Firm rivals Rangers will face each other in the prestigious cup competition later this month.

Ferguson, who played for the Gers in the 1990s and noughties and is a club legend, believes that the Bhoys will prove too strong for Mark Warburton’s side.

“Celtic are the stronger team with more experienced players such as Craig Gordon, Charlie Mulgrew, Scott Brown and Kris Commons,” the former Scotland international midfielder wrote in The Daily Record. “For that reason I think they’ll see off the Rangers challenge at Hampden.

“But they might well get a fright along the way because Rangers are coming after them and don’t have too far left to travel on this journey back to the top.”

Celtic have the best squad in Scotland, and they will head into the game against Rangers as favourites.

Ronny Deila’s side have returned to form in recent weeks, and they will fancy their chances against the Gers.

Rangers, though, could win the Scottish Championship title as early as this weekend, and that will certainly enhance their confidence of winning against the Hoops.

The Ibrox outfit have a strong squad and have some very good players, all of whom will be keen on showcasing their talent against Celtic.
